NATIONAL SEMINAR
ON
ENVIRONMENTAL ASPECTS OF ENERGY –INDUSTRIAL PROSPECTIVE
Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon and Consultancy Development Centre, (Autonomous Institution of DSIR, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi) jointly organised a National Seminar on “Environmental Aspects of Energy -Industrial Prospective” on 21st February 2015. The objective of the seminar was to discuss the environmental aspects of energy production, energy distribution, energy use, energy security, energy saving and efficiency from industrial point of view.
The seminar was inaugurated in the gracious presence of Dr. K. A. Subramanian, IIT Delhi and Dr. Shubhra Barwa, Miranda House, New Delhi. Ms. Shelika Arora (Professional B, Consultancy Development Centre, New Delhi) & Principal, Prof.B.M.K. Prasad, Prof. Jitender Kumar, Dr. Neelam Ruhil, Convener CDC Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon.

Inaugurating the seminar, Dr. K. A. Subramanian, IIT Delhi said that empowering a society with energy and pollution-free environment has been very essential. He emphatically stated that such seminar would definitely be relevant to develop technical projects focussing on system level assessment of energy production, conversion, consumption etc.
The introductory session of the seminar was taken by Ms. Shelika Arora from CDC. She made the participants aware about the concept of Knowledge Management Partner Institution (KMPI) which associates Dronacharya College of Engineeringand Consultancy Development Centre. Dr. R. C. Sharma, Professor of Applied Science & Humanities Dept., Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon talked about the various aspects of energy that pose a threat to the environment.
During the technical sessions the invited speakers Dr. K. A. Subramanian from IIT, Delhi and Dr. Shubhra from Miranda House, Delhi University explained the concepts related to developing energy-environmental frame works for social welfare. They shared their views on energy & human development, solar energy, fossil fuels, renewable energy, nuclear energy, global warming, climate change, greenhouse gas emission.The last plenary session was followed on topic energy utilisation, energy efficiency, environment and sustainable development.by Mr. Sumit Kumar, ECE Dept., DCE, Gurgaon.
The session concluded with the distribution of mementos to invited speakers & certificates to all participants by Prof. B. M. K Prasad, Principal , DCE, Gurgaon.
