INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO ASHIMORI PVT. LIMITED,
NEEMRANA, RAJASTHAN

86 Students of ECE department of VI semester visited Ashimori Pvt. Limited, Neemrana , Rajasthan on 23 Feb 2015 and 03 Mar 2015 for Industrial Visit accompanied by two faculty members on each day (Mrs. Dimple Saproo, Mrs, Amninder Kaur on 23 Feb 2015 and Mr. Hari Mohan Rai, Mr. Nishant Kumar on 03 Mar 2015)
Ashimori Industry Co., Ltd. is a company mainly engaged in the manufacture and sale of automotive safety parts. It established its wholly owned subsidiary, Ashimori India Private Limited, in Rajasthan in Oct 09. The Automotive Safety Parts segment of company offers automotive seat belts, air-bags and electric rear sunshades.
The team was welcomed by Mr. Amit Chanchlani, (CEO Ashimori India Limited), Mr. Saurabh Chowdhary (Engineer) andMr. Sudhipta Sarkar (Engineer). Mr. Amit Chanchlani gave a brief introduction about the company profile. After the introductory presentation, the team was divided into two groups with one faculty in each group. Mr. Saurabh Chowdhary and Mr. Sudhipta coordinated the team’s visit to shop floor and various departments of the company.
During the visit, the students learnt about the manufacturing of seat belts. Mr. Sudhipta briefed the students about the seat belts that are supposed to fit the driver and passengers comfortably during the drive. The company has developed integration of various technologies into seat belts systems. The seat belt system is equipped with ‘Pretensioner’, in order to restrain the occupants at the time of impact. When the vehicle faces collision hazard or could not avoid a collision, the seat belt pulls the webbing to alert the driver to prevent or minimize the damage.
Mr. Amit Chanchlani briefed the students about the need of Air bag and how it works? The company is designing various types of Airbag systems such as passenger airbag, side airbag, curtain airbag, and pedestrian airbag. The most advanced hydraulic collision test system enables the design and tuning of the Airbag system for individual characteristics of each vehicle. They are also designing power sunshade in which the screen can be opened or closed with a switch and the amount of light entering from the rear window can be regulated.
Students also visited the labs where validation and testing equipment were placed to analyze the data for the development of a more reliable, secure and comfortable seat belt.
On the whole, the visit was a very fruitful exercise as it gave an opportunity to the students to have a closer look at various complicated equipment used for the manufacturing of automotive parts used in a vehicle.
