28th FOUNDATION DAY OF TIFAC
On 10th February 2015, Ms. Parul Bansal, Assistant Professor, along with 5 students (Gaurav – 15709, Kinshuk – 15714, Mayank – 15717, Neha – 16770, Sonia - 16774) from Electronics and Computer Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the 28th Foundation Day of Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) at Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) is an autonomous organization set up in 1988 under the Department of Science & Technology (DST),New Delhi to look ahead in technologies, assess the technology trajectories, and support technology innovation by network actions in select technology areas of national importance. The event commenced with a welcome address to all the dignitaries and attendees followed by Saraswati Vandana by the students from National Association for Blind. The lecture was attended by many scholars from different organizations.
During the technical sessions the seasoned speakers Prof. Prabhat Ranjan, Executive Director, TIFAC; Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Secretary, DST; Dr. Anil Kakodkar, Chairman, TIFAC Governing Council covered different topics focussing on making India ahead in technology as well. They made the participants well-versed with Technology Vision 2035; Technology in the service of India; IT and cognitive sciences; nuclear energy, space technologies, remote sensing systems etc.
After the sessions, a panel discussion on “Future of Brain: A Race between Mind and Machine” was held in which many dignitaries participated and shared their views. In addition to this, various TIFAC reports were also released by the Executive Director of TIFAC.
The event marked the foundation for Technology Vision 2035 and the lectures were extensively useful to the participants to understand and recognize various upcoming trends in technology.
