LECTURE ON “4G/LTE NETWORKS-OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES” IN ASSOCIATION WITH IETE NEW DELHI
On 27th Feb 15, An expert lecture was organized by Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Droncharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on “4G/LTE Networks-Opportunities and Challenges” in association with IETE attended by fifty students of VIth Semester of ECE, EEE, CSE & ECS branches. The session was conducted by Col. Balraj Anand, Member of governing Council - IETE.
The keynote speaker Col. Balraj Anand emphasised on the 4G system, in addition to the usual voice and other services of 3G. Potential and current applications include amended mobile web access, IP telephony, gaming services, high-definition mobile TV, video conferencing, 3D television, and cloud computing . LTE was developed to provide bandwidth up to 10 times the speed of 3G connections. It provides maximum down- link speeds of 100 Mbps and uplink speeds of 50 Mbps.
Mr. Shiv Kumar, Director & CEO, Redefine Dimensions Consulting Pvt. Ltd (RDCPL) discussed the need of advancement in the design of cellular networks to cope up with the increasing number of users, level of traffic (voice, data, etc.), and sophisticated but useful applications on mobile devices. The quest for higher bandwidth, faster connection times, and seamless handoffs, is prompting engineers to seek better solutions. In today’s era the biggest industries are investing massive amounts of money in 4G/ LTE (Long Term Evolution) networks.
The session was very interactive & helpful to the students as the overall lecture gave a detailed exposure about 4G/LTE Networks-Opportunities and Challenges.
