Workshop On E-Myths
Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a Workshop on “E-Myth” from 23rd -25th March 2017. The workshop was conducted by Footsteps for First Year Engineering students. Mr. Ashutosh Kaushal, Senior Executive Engineer, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd was the Resource Person.
The objective of the workshop was to make students realize the importance of engineering career. Footsteps is a social venture that focuses on to identify and encourage today’s youth to prepare them for the unforeseen future using education as a powerful tool.
Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad, Principal - DCE, Gurgaon gave the welcome address and introduced Mr. Ashutosh Kaushal to the participants.
Mr. Kaushal started the session by stating that human beings have been working to make lives easier. Engineers are responsible for providing frugal innovative solutions to the problems faced by the common people. He commenced further with the origin of engineering, discussed about the industrial revolution and the dictum that has stood the test of time that need is the mother of all inventions. He demonstrated this dictum to the students with examples of the engineering inventions which changed the scenario of the world at large.
He also focused upon the role of Communication Skills in the all-round development of an engineer. With the help of hands-on activities, he demonstrated to the students how an improper communication can cause hindrance in any of the responsibilities or jobs handled by them in their work place. The Afternoon Session focused on project cum activity oriented discussion. He assigned the students a simple project to be done in limited time and using limited resources. The students were divided into teams for accomplishing the task assigned to them. After that, the students presented their accomplished project to the audience and described its feasibility.
The workshop provided the students a different perspective for engineering and developed interest and passion towards it. The workshop came to an end with distribution of participation certificates and with a vote of thanks.
