National Level Project Competition
VIVID 2017, CHENNAI
National Level Project Competition “VIVID 2017” for the Engineering students was organized by SSN College of Engineering, Chennai on 24th March 2017. Six students namely Deepesh(17046), Dhruv Nagesh(17049), Shubham Bansal(17136), Ayush Aggarwal(17033), Ayush Lamba(17035), Gautam Chutani(17053) from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the competition.
The objective of this competition was to encourage the students to apply their knowledge, skills, passion and creativity to technology solutions that can make a difference to the world today. Top 80 teams from all over the country had participated in the competition. Ms. S. Sasirekha, (VIVID Project Coordinator) welcomed all the participants at the Project Competition.
Ms. Swathika (VIVID Project Coordinator) explained the procedure of presenting the idea and influencing the people to support the idea. She also focused on the strategy of project implementation with its advantages & disadvantages. Further she mentioned and guided about how to cope with failures in different situations according to the market standards. Participants got to know about the need of proper planning and the importance of team in the project execution. Mr. Louis Paul (VIVID Project Coordinator) introduced the main theme of the competition. He divided all the 80 teams into three categories according to their projects. He discussed the Objectives of the standards.
Deepesh (17046), Dhruv Nagesh (17049) presented their idea BLIND NAV (Bat’s Eye to Blind). It is a blind director which directs the blind to move freely as well as will help their family members to locate them. With this idea they proposed a design of a waist belt which will act as a director / navigator to the visually impaired.
Shubham Bansal (17136) presented his project, Energy Saver, which reads the consumed electrical energy in units and rupees and display the real time data to the user on regular intervals through home automation as well as mobile application. He explained that the application comprises of the status (on/off) of all the appliances in the home and the user can turn off the unnecessary ones in order to save electricity.
Ayush Aggarwal (17033), Ayush Lamba (17035) and Gautam Chutani (17053) demonstrated their project of wireless robot. Their project is an energy saving and wireless robot controlling system. They explained the use of innovative technology and idea for perfect automation and autonomous path guiding robot controlled by android application.
All the participants were given Participation certificates by Mr. Louis Paul. The participants were allowed to interact with the jury, the faculties and the local interns of the college to clear the queries and gather some reviews about their project.
Over all the competition helped the students to gain valuable knowledge and gather more ideas to implement their projects.
