World Food India Hackathon, 2017

Two teams TEAM 1:- STECHIES: Shubham Shukla (18159), Vedant Goel (18179), Yatin Khatter (18187) and Shubham Gupta (18158) and TEAM 2:- FOOD AND PIE : Rahul Gole (18128), Rahul Yadav (18130), Rishab Saluja (18136) and Rishab Kumar (18135) of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon were selected in World Food India Hackathon organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India on 27th - 28th October, 2017. The jury in the Hackathon were Mr. Arbind Das, Whole Time Director & Chief Operating Officer, Godrej Tyson Foods Ltd, Mr. Shrikant Sinha, Chief Executive Officer, NASSCOM Foundation and Mr. L R Shiva Kumar, Senior Vice President & Head - Food Business, Walmart India Private Limited.
World Food India (WFI) was a global event to facilitate partnerships between Indian and international businesses and investors. It is a gateway to the Indian food economy and an opportunity to showcase, connect, and collaborate.
It aims to provide opportunities for both investment and trade in the food processing sector for leading Indian and international companies. Encompassing the entire food spectrum from production to consumption, WFI is looking at creating a better sourcing environment, thereby enabling higher returns for farmers, creating employment, and fostering entrepreneurship.
156 teams have registered for the world Food India Hackathon and 69 teams have been invited to present their solutions.
Day 1 : 27th October
In the beginning two mentors/professors were allotted to all the 69 teams came from different colleges from different cities for the Technical and IT support. All the participants were required to carry their own laptops for coding and prepared presentation. Students started the discussion with mentors about their ideas, so mentors could guide participants if required, advice them on how to enhance the scope of their solution. In the end of first day 69 teams were divided into 3 panels, Panel A,B and C. Both of the teams of DCE college were in Panel C.
Day 2 : 28th October
The second day started with all enthusiasm. It was a busy day with all the teams were preparing for their presentation round. One by one team went for their presentation to demonstrate the solutions they prepared whole day long before. After the small break jury announced the results and the qualified teams go for final round.
