Workshop on Big Data

CSI Student Chapter, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a workshop on “BIG DATA” on 12th October 2017. 60 students from CSE Department attended the workshop. Chief expert Mr. Jeetendra Singh (Consultant), who is currently working with RCPL India was the resource person of the workshop. Ms Sarita, Assistant Professor (CSE) was the coordinator of the workshop.
The objective of the workshop was introducing the students to the Big Data technology and how this technology can help in real world.
In this event, the focus was on:
- Introducing the main concept of Big Data.
- Applications of Big Data
- Facts about Big Data
- Future scope of Big Data
- Processing of Big Data
- The Hadoop technology
Mr. Jeetendra started the session with introducing the main concept of Big Data. There was tremendous amount of information provided about the concept of Hadoop, cloud computing and distributive computing. The students were also told about the usage of IOT in Big Data and various types of data and units of measuring data. The advantages and features of Big Data were also explained to the students.
There was a quiz organised at the end of the session for students to build and deploy their views on Big Data. Students actively presented their viewpoints. Three winners were decided and they were presented with goodies.
Students got information about Big Data and its application through the workshop.
