National Girl Child Day Celebration

NSS Units of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Farrukhnagar organized an event on 11th October 2025 to observe National Girl Child Day with great enthusiasm and pride. The celebration aimed to promote awareness about the rights, education, and empowerment of girls in society, inspiring students to contribute toward building a community where every girl can live with dignity, receive equal opportunities, and pursue her dreams freely.
The program commenced with an introductory address by Dr. Anupam Dalal (NSS Programme Officer) who highlighted the significance of National Girl Child Day and emphasized the importance of valuing, supporting, and empowering girls in every sphere of life. The address shed light on how girls are breaking stereotypes and excelling across diverse fields including academics, technology, leadership, and social work.
To honor and recognize the contribution of girls in the college, a special felicitation ceremony was organized. The NSS Unit felicitated female students for their achievements in academics, cultural activities, technical pursuits, and social initiatives. The event further included technical sessions and interactive workshops designed to encourage female participation in technology and innovation. These sessions focused on digital literacy, coding fundamentals, and leadership skills to build confidence among girls and motivate them to explore emerging tech domains.
Additionally, motivational talks were delivered by faculty members and senior NSS volunteers on themes such as women empowerment, gender equality, and youth responsibility in fostering inclusivity. Inspirational videos and stories of successful women in STEM were also showcased, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by NSS Programme Officer. The event successfully conveyed the message of empowerment, equality, and respect for the girl child, reinforcing the belief that empowering girls is the foundation for empowering the nation.
