National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas)

31st October 2025

NSS Units of Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE), Khentawas, Farrukhnagar, Gurugram, celebrated National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) with great enthusiasm on 31st October 2025, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The celebration aimed to strengthen the spirit of national integration, dedication, and self-reliance among the students under the theme “Ek Bharat – Atmanirbhar Bharat.”

The event commenced with an inaugural address, followed by the commencement of the Unity March, led by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Isha Malhotra. In her inspiring speech, Dr. Malhotra highlighted the significant role of youth in preserving the unity and integrity of the nation. She drew connections between Sardar Patel’s unifying vision and India’s modern goal of self-reliance, urging students to embody dedication and responsibility in their professional and personal lives. The NSS Programme Officers and volunteers actively participated, showcasing strong patriotic fervor and commitment.

A motivational Unity Lecture was organized, focusing on the value of “Dedication” as a key to national progress. The lecture inspired students by reflecting on Sardar Patel’s tireless service and leadership, encouraging them to follow his example as future engineers and responsible citizens. Following the lecture, NSS volunteers took a Unity Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to uphold the unity, integrity, and security of the nation.

To promote creativity and awareness, a Poster Making Competition was conducted on the theme “Ek Bharat – Atmanirbhar Bharat.” Students expressed their ideas through artistic illustrations that depicted the deep connection between national unity and economic self-reliance. Their artwork beautifully represented how India’s cultural and regional diversity serves as a foundation for strength and progress.

In addition to on-campus activities, NSS Units initiated a Digital Campaign featuring E-posters and social media awareness drives. The campaign effectively extended the reach of the celebration beyond the college premises, spreading messages of national unity and solidarity across various online platforms. The main highlight of the day was the Unity March, led by NSS volunteers, which symbolized collective strength, integration, and the shared vision of a united and self-reliant India.

The celebration of National Unity Day 2025 was a resounding success, translating patriotic emotions into active participation and social commitment. NSS Units of DCE express heartfelt gratitude to Principal Prof. Dr. Isha Malhotra for her inspiring leadership and inauguration of the event, the Management of DCE for their continuous support, Dr. Renu Choudhary, NSS University Coordinator (Gurugram University), for her valuable guidance, and the Registrar and faculty members for their cooperation in ensuring smooth execution of all activities.

Through this celebration, Dronacharya College of Engineering once again reaffirmed its mission to nurture students who are not only technically competent but also socially responsible citizens, dedicated to contributing towards national unity, progress, and self-reliance.
