Leadership Talk with Prof. T.G. Sitharam

Innovation Ambassadors along with the final year students of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram attended the virtual “Leadership Talk” with Prof. T.G. Sitharam (Chairman, AICTE) on 30^th January, 2023. The session was organized by Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell.

Dr. Abhay Jere (Chief Innovation Officer, MoE) initiated the session by welcoming Prof. T.G. Sitharam. He introduced him by highlighting his contributions and sharing his work experience details at many premier education institutions in India and was a resource person for some phenomenal changes towards the transformation of education sector.

Prof. T.G. Sitharam said “Research” is very critical for the success of HEIs as well as the country’s growth. He cited the vision of PM Narendra Modi Ji for a self-sufficient (Atma Nirbhar) country by 2047. For this research and innovation activities play a vital role. He said, innovation is started by way of establishing IICs in Institutions, but now there is a need for carrying research work also. For promoting research activities in the HEIs, funds also needs to be pumped in the education system and AICTE would focus upon the same to the fullest. He said, these days’ students are more focused upon getting a B.Tech degree and searching for a job, but it’s vital to go for research activities for transformation of the country.

He also quoted that innovation will lead to products, technology and problem solutions development and will help India in becoming a developed nation and start exporting. He also told about the future plan of AICTE as publishing books in different languages of the country which would help in understanding of the problem and development of ideas at a much faster rate.

In the last, Prof. T.G. Sitharam shared the Mantra for stress management by following simple steps. He said, always learn what you want to learn and enjoy doing the same. He highlighted to have a goal and make a habit for making serious and sincere attempts to achieve the goal. He also said to believe in yourself and never fear for the unsuccessful.

At last he said, Perseverance is the key to success.

Students closely listened to the speaker and gained good knowledge.
