Industrial Visit to Centre for e-Governance, Delhi

CSI Student Chapter, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized an industrial visit to "Centre for e-Governance, Delhi" on 12th September 2017. Forty nine first semester students of CSIT branch along with faculty member Dr. Sangeeta Singla visited the company.
All the students were welcomed by Mr. Sunil Kumar, Project Manager CeG along with very informative brochure related to services provided by CeG and USB drive as a memory.
First, the project manager interacted with all the students by presenting a presentation on the history of e-governance and its applications that reflected the progress achieved in the implementation and usage of e-Governance. Then he demonstrated various e-Governance initiatives in the country and hands-on experience on the web-enabled e-services being delivered in various parts of the country.
Some of the initiatives which were demonstrated were:- e-Government: Providing e-infrastructure for delivery of e-services, e-Industry: Promotion of electronics hardware manufacturing and IT-ITeS industry, e-Innovation / R&D: Implementation of R&D Framework - Enabling creation of Innovation/ R&D Infrastructure in emerging areas of ICT&E/Establishment of mechanism for R&D translation, e-Learning: Providing support for development of e-Skills and Knowledge network, e-Security: Securing India's cyber space, e-Inclusion: Promoting the use of ICT for more inclusive growth and Internet Governance: Enhancing India's role in Global Platforms of Internet Governance.
The Centre for e-Governance provides a unique platform for wider dissemination of awareness regarding successful e-Governance initiatives in the country as well as the roadmap for implementation of e-Governance.
The session continued by quiz contest of students. The winners were motivated with memorable prizes.
It was exciting and memorable experience to know about e-governance services and policies.
