Microsoft Student Partner Summit 2017

Microsoft Student Partner Summit 2017 was organized by Microsoft from 28th-30th September 2017 at BITS, Pilani. Six MSPs from Microsoft Innovation Center, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon namely Kanika Saluja, Mandeep Singh, Nitin Manocha, Vertika Shukla, Neha Kumari, Prakriti attended the summit. The summit exhibited more than 400 MSPs selected all over India.
The main objective of the summit was to introduce the new technologies being developed at Microsoft & giving students a technical and a communal exposure to the Student Partner Community of the Microsoft.
The MSP Summit witnessed renowned dignitaries from Microsoft. The event started with the keynote address by Mr. Venkatesh Sarvasiddhi, Head-Academic Initiatives & Microsoft Innovation Centres.
Day 1: 28th September, 2017
All the MSPs were welcomed by the organizing team members and introductory session took place. MSPs were informed with the upcoming events and activities and what they can expect from the summit. DCE, Gurgaon MSPs interacted with other MSPs present there.
Day 2: 29th September, 2017
MSP’s were introduced to Microsoft Office Lens & various other apps being developed by Microsoft. They were also told the Microsoft Imagine Cup competition held worldwide annually and interaction with teams selected for international rounds of Imagine Cup. One of the highlights of the day was the chatbot Ruuh which is an Artificial Intelligence chatbot build by the Microsoft.
Day 3: 30th September, 2017
A session on Machine Learning was held and a Machine Learning Hackathon took place in the labs where students competed. Later, on sessions on LinkedIn were held under “Rock your Profile” where students were introduced to building a strong & a professional LinkedIn profile. After the LinkedIn session, students had a Skype interaction with Ms. Susan Ibach, Microsoft Student Partner Program Manager at Microsoft.
Many competitions were also organized at the Summit in which one of DCE, Gurgaon MSP Vertika Shukla got prize in two categories.

The closing ceremony of the Microsoft Student Partner Summit 2017 included distribution of the Microsoft goodies to the students & the EDM Night for the students.
