Every participant was allotted one of the three factions :
- Nation
- MNC
- InvestmentBank
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Prabhu Chawla (Editorial Director of The New Indian Express, a Chennai-based newspaper in India). Addressing the participants, he mentioned about the skillset required in the practical scenario and how the students need to build that.
The event was divided into 3 phases:
In this phase, the MNCs would approach Nations and entice them to sell their production houses to them. Each Nation, in this phase, could sell off its 2 production basic houses (not premium production houses!). Depending on the MNCs which buy their production houses, nations will have to incentivise banks to invest their money in them at low costs. The Investment Banks use their own money to facilitate this investment in MNC shares, ensuring that the entire percentage of the shares is owned by the Investment Banks. However, in this phase, each MNC could sell a maximum of 15% of its shares.
- Phase 2: The Auction & Share Market
This phase revolved around the auction of the Premium Production Houses to MNCs and Investments Banks submitting a portfolio, based on the auction, highlighting their Willingness to invest in various MNCs. It also witnessed the Nations investing in MNC shares with investment banks acting as middle-men. Investment banks are expected to adhere to their portfolio when investing the Nation’sMoney inMNC shares.
- Phase 3: Trading & Summit
This phase revolved around the interaction between all teams within the same faction. MNCs interact with each other to buy and sell products, and the Nations and Investment banks come together for a summit to pass a resolution on a global financial conflict.
