Initiation of American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Student Chapter

American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) initiated the establishment of Student Chapter at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on 27th April 2017.
ASCE is a global society which brings together volunteers and institutes from all over the world to advance the technical and professional expertise in a number of fields like Disaster Management and Mitigation, Aerospace, Climate Change Codes and Standards, Energy, Pipelines, Wind Engineering, Geomatics etc.
Prof. Vineet Mishra, HOD - Civil Engineering Department DCE, Gurgaon welcomed Chief - Guest and other dignitaries. Prof. Vineet stated such societies are relevant for the students as it helps them in acquiring knowledge from different fields of Civil Engineering such as Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Geothermal Engineering, New Construction Techniques, etc.
Speaking on the occasion Chief - Guest Mr. GursharanJit Singh Rosha, President, (ASCE - North Region) said that American Society of Civil Engineers is committed to protect the public health, safety and welfare and to contribute in the Nation building through its work in the field of Civil Engineering. He further explained keeping social welfare in mind, the society strives to share knowledge, experience, and best practices through conferences, workshops, peer - reviewed journals, books, seminars, webinars, etc.
Guest of Honour Shri R. P. Saxena, addressing the students said , this society is well - known for developing infrastructural and environmental stewardship and it is a nice platform for lifelong learning in a diversified filed of Civil Engineering.
The inaugural ceremony ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Pravendra Yadav, Assistant Professor (CE Department), DCE, Gurgaon. He expressed his heart - felt gratitude to the dignitaries for their constant support extended in this direction.
