Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp
Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp powered by Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Ahmedabad was organized at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon from (9th - 11th ) March, 2016. Entrepreneurship Development Cell(EDC) of Dronacharya College of Engineering continuously makes effort to launch programs to boost the morale of the students who dream big and promise to strive for their dreams. This three day program was conducted to provide platform from where they can kick start their ventures and help them indulge in activities that would motivate them to face a real world challenges.
GUEST LECTURE:
Mrs P D Bharathi (HAM Member) was invited as speaker for guest lecture on “Amateur Radio” in collaboration with“National Institute of Amateur Radio” on 09th March, 2016. This guest lecture was organized to make student aware of the latest trends in the market and equip them with the best possible knowledge to start their entrepreneurial journeys. Mrs Bharathi said the fundamental message for being an Entrepreneur that one need to be passionate about work and the goal that one chooses for self. She also shared instances which she had encountered during her lifetime, motivated students to work for cause and powerful role they can play in the development of the country.
Mrs Bharathi is having rich experience of 30 years in field of Amateur Radio Operations (also known as HAM Radio) covering the areas of administration, training & demonstrations, establishing Amateur Radio Stations and liaison with Government departments etc Mrs Bharathi is founder member of “National Institute of Amateur Radio”, Hyderabad since its inception in 1985 and still active member of Delhi HAM Radio.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT:
An Industrial visit to SIFS INDIA, New Delhi was organized on 09th March, 2016 to create awareness among students about the current market trend and focus on innovative ideas to find solutions to the problem being faced by mankind. This industrial visit was attended by twenty two students from CSE, IT & CSIT department accompanied by Mr Amar Saraswat (Asst Prof) from CSE.
SIFS INDIA is leading private Forensic Science Lab, registered with ( Government of India, MCA) which provides various types of Forensic Services like Handwriting Analysis, Fingerprint Comparison, Signature Detection, Fraud Detection, forensic ethical hacking etc. The aim for this industrial Visit was to enable students to learn about image processing techniques and Cyber Forensics.
Mr Karamveer Singh (Cyber Crime Expert) explained the students about various types of hacking such as White hat and Black hat, various software’s tools for investigation which comes under the hacking by showing through demo, as how data can be recovered. He described importance of Image Processing in the field of Forensic Sciences by showing the difference between the actual images and morphed images by viewing the changed resolution of the full or part of the image.
Dr Ranjeet Singh (CEO) SIFS INDIA explained students about Cursive Recognition Approaches such as document pre - processing , which consists of noise removal, word box extraction, size normalization, Holistic matching, Featured Extraction and thinning. In the end he concluded various career options related to Image Processing and Cyber Forensics.
This industrial visit was very fruitful for students as they learnt about mobile forensic investigation, image processing, and voice identification which is beyond Academic reach and career option in field of forensics and image processing.
CLASSROOM ACTIVITY:
“Entrepreneurial Quiz Competition” was organized on 10th and 11th March, 2016 to judge the extent to which students are aware of the Entrepreneurial world. This was to spread awareness through direct interaction with students by giving them basic knowledge of what Individual faces as life of Entrepreneur .Quiz consisted of two rounds, in first round 3 pictures of successful Entrepreneurs were shown to team of 4 students. They had to name the Entrepreneur and give a brief description of the persons journey towards successful person. Coordinators provided supporting hand to students by giving them brief about life story and struggled they faced in achieving their goals. Two topmost team who moved to next round, had to solve the jumbled words. There were 5 jumbled words related to Entrepreneurship traits and the team need to find out the same in just 45 seconds. Finally the team who won the contest was rewarded.
The program was highly inspirational and motivational for all the participating students which encouraged them to think big and achieve big as Entrepreneur.
