Competition on Connected Hardware (Internet of Things)
6th March 2016
The competition on “Connected Hardware (Internet of Things)” held on 6th March 2016 at 91Springboard Gurgaon. Riya Jain (16548) and Saurabh Kumar (15517) of Information Technology Department from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the competition and won first prize for publishing the maximum number of applications.
A workshop was organized before the competition which helped the participants in learning and designing connected hardware and Internet of things in minutes. The key takeaways of the workshop were:
1. Work hands-on with Arduino setup
2. Learn how to connect sensors to measure environment around them
3. Build an IoT product that communicates data up to the cloud
4. Hands on funstore.io platform to design IoTs instantly
5. Work with live IoT sensor dat
10 teams from different colleges and streams participated in competition. The teams were asked to design and publish as many live IoT based applications on Raspberry Pi 2 as they could, and the team publishing maximum number of applications on funstore.io platform would win a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B worth Rs. 4,000/-. Riya Jain and Saurabh Kumar published maximum applications (33 applications) on Raspberry Pi 2, thus stood first in the competition and received a Raspberry Pi 2 Model B.
