Second Position in Appathon at IIT Roorkee

IIT Roorkee conducted a competition named “Appathon” for undergraduate students of science and engineering colleges from 18th - 20th March 2016. Two students, Kashika Grover (17064) and Kavita Kataria ( 17066) of the team “The Inevitable” from Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Dronacharya College Of Engineering, Gurgaonparticipated in the competition and secured second position.
The objective of the competition was to provide a competitive platform for students in the field of app development. During the competition students were asked to represent their app through a proper PowerPoint slides. Secondly the basic requirement was the working model of their app. To strengthen the competition technical questions were asked as well as students were asked to explain the benefits of app in future. Other participants were allowed to raise any kind of query related to the project. Teams were participated from different colleges of PAN India. The main points which were highlighted to win the competition were Good Idea, Scope of the app in future, Beneficial to society and Working model.
After the first round, the participants were short listed for the second round. Short listed participants were asked to show the working model with an example. After the second round judges took their time and announced the result. Finally, CSE team“The Inevitable” won the second prize in “Appathon”.
It was a good learning experience for the students.
