Cyber Security Workshop for LIS and IT Professionals

DELNET organized a workshop on cyber security at Jawaharlal Nehru University Campus, New Delhi on 31st August 2015. Six students namely Shweta Popli(16154), Arshi Talwar(16182), Sneha Gupta (16157), Adity Bhargav (16006), Deepika Pandey (16048) and Piyush(16112) of Computer Science and Engineering Department, from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the workshop.
Dr. Sangeeta Kaul, Network Manager, DELNET, New Delhi along with Dr. H. K. Kaul, Director, DELNET and Dr. Gulshan Rai, National Cyber Coordinator, PMO, Government of India inaugurated the workshop with a welcome note. Lt. Vineet Kumar, President, CPF, Ranchi and Prof. Rajaram S. Sharma, Jt. Director, CIET, NCERT, New Delhi discussed about Introduction to Digital Information Security and its recent developments.
Lt. Vineet Kumar conducted a session on Risk Assessment and Information Security, Information Security Incident Management, its Case Studies and Internet of things (IOT). He explained about the kind of hackers, ways of hacking, Internet Frauds and various technologies used to overcome the above mentioned problems.
Dr. Ajeet Poonia, Registrar of Government College of Engineering, Bikaner discussed on Data Security Issues of Libraries in cloud Environment. Dr. Poonia explained about the cyber weapon market and the recent trends in cybercrime. A technical session was presented by Avinash Kumar Singh and Tarun, CEO, Innefu Labs on Cyber Security, Open Source Tools and Technologies, in which they mentioned the importance of open source, the tools and technologies used in open source and its comparison with windows. Lt. Vineet Kumar lectured on Financial Frauds, Protection and Detection, in which he covered the detailed study of the financial frauds taking place in today’s world along with real examples and the cases which he has solved.
The workshop ended with the valedictory session where Mrs. Namita Rao, Project Coordinator, CPF, New Delhi ended the workshop with the vote of thanks. This workshop proved to be very fruitful and enriching for the students.
