22nd August 2015
The 8th IPCA Electronics India Expo 2015, supported by DeitY, Government of India organized a three day event at Pragati Maidan from 20th to 22nd August 2015. On 22nd August 2015 30 students from Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon along with faculty coordinators Mrs. Sakshi Pahuja and Mrs. Priya Yadav attended the RS design Workshop organized by RS India Ltd.
The aim of the expo was to promote the state of art PCB technology and business in the country by mutual exchange of ideas and technical interactions. The Expo aims to revolutionize the ‘Make in India’ concept and create an ecosystem for the existing and new players of the electronics industry. For the students it provided an excellent platform to learn from experienced technical experts through direct interaction.
The key highlights of the expo were:
1. PCB and PCBA
2. LED and Lighting
3. RS Design Workshop and
4. Skill Development Workshop
Mr. Amit Agnihotri, expert from RS India Ltd demonstrated the PCB designing software called Design Spark PCB v7. DesignSpark PCB is a free-of-charge schematic capture and PCB layout tool for electronics design automation (EDA), for use by professional electronics design engineers, educators and students EDA software is a sub-class of computer-aided design (CAD) software. The working and use of different tools available in Design Spark PCB v7 was demonstrated. Hands on training with this software were given to the Participants. This software is:
1. Easy to learn
2. free of cost
3. No license is required
4. Inbuilt tools for 3D product Design Rapid prototyping tools
5. accessibility of the software
It is a powerful software engine that will enable students to capture Schematics, design PCB boards and layouts. It emerged as the electronic industry's standard for collaboration and file sharing.
The Expo demonstrated the latest trends of the industry, and gave the exact understanding of the current and future trends of the industry. The students got an opportunity to interact with eminent industry experts and enhance their knowledge.
