Visit to "Grassroots Innovations and Skill Development Conclave for Rural Development"
Under One Week One Lab Program

Bhavishya Chaturvedi (Roll No. 25232) and Tamanna Nahar (Roll No. 25330) (2nd year CSE-AIML Dept.), along with Prof. (Dr.) Anupam Dalal from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram attended the technology showcase event on “Grassroots Innovations and Skill Development Conclave for Rural Development” on 13th September, 2023 at CSIR-NPL Auditorium, New Delhi, as a part of CSIR-NIScPR’s, One Week One Lab Program (OWOL) which is being organized across all the CSIR Labs in the country.
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan is actively working with CSIR-NIScPR and VIBHA for Livelihood generation in rural areas through CSIR technologies and knowledge sharing. Some CSIR Labs (CSIR – National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, CSIR – Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, CSIR – Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun, CSIR – Advanced Materials and Process Research Institute, Bhopal, CSIR – Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur, etc.) showcased their technologies suitable for rural areas.
The event began with an enlightened session of prominent figures associated with CSIR-NIScPR, DSIR, VIBHA and ASRB. They explained about their work in research and development.
The next session included a panel of experts and scientists from CSIR labs from all over the country and members from IIT Delhi, NRDC and Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India.
The session enlightened the audience about all the latest technologies and innovations that are used at different CSIR labs.
The program also showcased the results and products from various participating labs.
Later, session included talk on Kisan Sabha application which was created to connect Farmers to Supply Chain and Freight Transportation Management System for their sale.
Session also included talk on leveraging grassroots creativity for sustained development to promote local innovations to be distributed among people facing similar issues with proper benefits to the creator.
Students gained good amount of knowledge and were also triggered towards working for rural India.
