National Integration Camp
12th - 18th March 2024
Four NSS student volunteers from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram attended the 7-day National Integration Camp organized and sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India, NSS (GoI) Regional Centre, New Delhi from 12th – 18th March, 2024. The NSS Cell of MMPG College had organized National Integration Camp in association with the State Haryana NSS Cell and Regional Directorate of NSS, GoI.
As many as 200 volunteers from 12 States across India participated in the camp. The motto of NSS is “Not Me, But You”. The prime aim of the camp was to offer first-hand experience to the volunteers for harmonious living and cultural exchange.

DAY-1: 12th March, 2024
On 12th March 2024, the activities of the day began with an energetic Yoga session by Dr. Kanta where students performed various warm-up exercises and different yoga asanas like Suryanamaskar, Kapaalbhaati, Anulomvilom monitored by Dr. Gurcharan Das (Principal of MMPG College), Dr. Manoj Kumar (Field Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi), and the Program Officers from various Universities.
Students moved for registration at 9:30 AM at Amarjeet Kaur Memorial Seminar Hall and got the ID cards wherein Dr. Gurcharan Das (Principal, MM PG College) introduced himself as well as the other program officers and briefed about the activities, facilities, and schedule of the7-day camp.
During the afternoon hours, students prepared for the cultural program and attended a seminar in which Mr. Deshraj (Field Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi) and Mr. Sharwan Kumar (Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi) described about roles, duties and responsibilities of NSS volunteers.
During the evening hours, everyone enjoyed the cultural program. Every team demonstrated their culture and got the opportunity to understand other’s culture as well.
DAY-2: 13th March, 2024
The second day of the camp began with a yoga session by Dr. Kanta, a proficient yoga teacher which was joined by Dr. Manoj Kumar (Field Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi), and Dr.Gurcharan Das (Principal, MMPG College).
The warm up session was followed by inauguration of the 7 day camp. Dr. Ajmer Singh Malik (Vice Chancellor, CDLU, Sirsa), Sharwan Ram (Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi), Dr. Manoj Kumar (Field Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi), Mr. Deshraj (Field Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi), Dr. Rohtash Kumar (NSS Co-ordinator, CDLU, Sirsa), Mr. Rishipal (Principal, Govt. College, Kaithal) along with Program officers inaugurated the 7-day NIC camp at the main stage followed by several dance and music performances by the volunteers.
After the inauguration, an academic session started in which an informational speech was given by Dr. R.K. Kaushik. Dr. Manoj Kumar (Field Officer, Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi) talked about the management team and told the importance of discipline and punctuality which was to be maintained every time during the camp. Mr. Rajeev Batra talked about the Non-Alignment Movement, technical inventions and development.
Ms. Saloni gave a speech about women empowerment and her words were eye-opening. Volunteers also expressed their views on the topic- “Role of Women in Aatmanirbhar Bharat”.
In the evening, students went for the cultural program in which the volunteers from Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Haryana filled the air with joy through their energetic performances.
DAY-3: 14th March, 2024
The day started with yoga session in which volunteers along with Program Officers and performed various asanas. After yoga, students moved towards the academic hall for an informative session on Cyber Crime. Then students attended a collective program in which the volunteers from different states performed poems, speeches, etc.
After the collective program, students went for the most awaited cultural program in which the volunteers from Telangana and Punjab expressed their captivating art forms.
DAY-4: 15th March, 2024
The day started with a rejuvenating yoga session in the morning. After the session, students went for breakfast and then got ready for the rally. All the volunteers participated in the awareness rally on “My First Vote for the Nation”. The surroundings were filled with the energy of the youth.
After the rally, students went to the theatre to watch the film “Bastar: The Naxal Story”. The movie promoted the feeling of nationalism and patriotism. The volunteers enchanted slogans and enjoyed themselves a lot. Students returned to the college and had a computer training session in which students learned about different tools.
Afterwards, students moved towards the main stage for the cultural performances by the volunteers of Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Orissa, and Madhya Pradesh. The enthralling performances depicted the vibrant cultures of different states.
DAY-5: 16th March, 2024
The day started with a mindful yoga session. After the session, volunteers gathered for a rally on “Say No to Drugs” and created public awareness to prevent drug consumption.
It was a big day for the volunteers as they were invited to Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa by the Vice Chancellor - Dr.Ajmer Singh Malik for cultural performances. Everybody was involved in the preparations and rehearsals.
The cultural performances at CDLU, Sirsa were so engaging and flawless that the audience was grooving to the beats of songs and dance performances. The event was well-organized and ended up successfully.
DAY-6: 17th March, 2024
The day started with a meditative yoga session which refreshed mind, body, and soul of the volunteers. All volunteers clicked pictures together and cherished memories. All the teams prepared for the performances as it was an open stage for all. Afterwards, an academic session began which was attended by the Chief Guest, Dr. C. Samuel Chelliah (Deputy Programme Adviser, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Regional Directorate of NSS, Delhi), and Guest of Honour, Shri Vinod Kumar. During the academic session, Mr. Chelliah motivated all the volunteers to achieve their dreams and always have a never-say-die attitude. He also taught the NSS power clap to the volunteers.
Shri Vinod Kumar recited many poems and shayaris to motivate the volunteers to pursue their aspirations.
Volunteers liked the academic session as it filled their minds to soar the skies with glory.
After the motivational academic session, students started preparing for the last cultural program of the camp.
The Programme Officers were complimented with mementos and the volunteers wereawarded certificates for their relentless service and sacrifices. After the cultural programcame to an end at 10:00 PM, we had our dinner and went back to the hostels to pack ourbagsforthe next day.
DAY-7: 18th March, 2024
The camp ended successfully and all the volunteers headed towards their homes. They carried long lasting experiences, lessons and unforgettable memories of friendship and brotherhood in their hearts.
