Workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Startups”

Dronacharya College of Engineering organized an informative workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) and IP Management for Startups” in collaboration with Swadeshi Startup. The session aimed to raise awareness among students and budding entrepreneurs about the significance of protecting intellectual creations and managing intellectual assets effectively in the startup ecosystem.
The resource persons from Swadeshi Startup highlighted the various forms of intellectual property, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and industrial designs. They discussed the legal frameworks surrounding IPRs in India and globally, and how startups can leverage these rights to safeguard their innovations and build a competitive advantage.
The session also covered essential aspects of IP strategy, filing procedures, infringement issues, and commercialization opportunities. Real-life case studies of Indian startups that successfully utilized IPRs were shared, giving participants practical insights into the application of IP management.
Students and faculty actively participated in the interactive Q&A session, showing great enthusiasm to learn about the legal and strategic aspects of innovation protection.
The workshop served as a valuable platform for encouraging innovation and guiding young minds on how to transform ideas into protected, marketable assets, aligning with the spirit of the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” initiative.
