Alumni Connect Program
5th March 2024
IEEE Student Chapter, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram organized an Alumni Connect Program on 5th March, 2024. Students of 4th semester of ECE, EEE and ECS attended the program. The event was graced by the presence of three esteemed Alumni Speakers from ECE, 2018-2022 Batch. Mr. S Kushwaha (Project Engineer, Wipro Technology Limited), Mr. Vivek Sharma (Software Engineer, Harman International) and Mr. Vishal Kumar (Project engineer, Wipro Technology Limited) were the eminent speakers of the interactive session.
The session aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by providing students with insights into both hardware and software domains of electronics.
The program started with the welcoming of the speakers by presenting them with saplings by Ms. Renu Dua (Head, T&P Dept.) The alumni shared their personal career journeys, emphasizing the practical applications of core electronics subjects such as Analog Electronics, Circuit Theory, and Signals & Systems. They highlighted the significance of hands-on experience with circuit design and prototyping, reinforcing the importance of a strong foundation in core subjects for career advancement.
The discussion explored into the intricacies of the hardware domain, with a focus on VLSI, Semiconductor Industries, and semiconductor manufacturing processes. The growth of semiconductor manufacturing in India was identified as a promising area for future electronics engineers, stressing the competitive advantage of skilled professionals in the field.
Transitioning to the software aspect, the speakers covered essential programming languages, the use of data structures, and the integration of artificial intelligence for enhanced technological solutions. They shared valuable project ideas and strategies for acing placement interviews, emphasizing the importance of proficiency in both frontend and backend development.
The session was not only an exploration of the technical dimensions of the electronics domain but also a comprehensive guide on career opportunities, including placements and possibilities for higher studies. Students were encouraged to explore their interests within the broad spectrum of electronics, considering both hardware and software perspectives.
Overall, the alumni interaction session provided a platform for students to gain a deeper understanding of the electronics industry, from core technical skills to application and innovation in real-world scenarios. The emphasis on building a solid foundation in core subjects, coupled with the exploration of emerging technologies and market trends, equipped the students with a holistic view of their future professional paths. The event accentuated the value of alumni experiences in enriching the academic journey of current students, paving the way for their successful integration into the dynamic field of electronics engineering.
