7 Days NSS Special Camp on theme “Role of Youth in Making Digital India”
(16th - 22nd February 2017)
NSS Unit at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised a seven - day special camp from 16th February to 22nd February 2017 on the theme of Role of Youth in Making Digital India”.
Day-1 (16-02-2017)-Inaugural Program
The Chief Guest Dr. Ranbir Gulia NSS coordinator, M.D.U. Rohtak inaugurated the Seven Day NSS special Camp on the Theme “Role of Youth in Making Digital India” on 16th Feb. 2017. Dr. Gulia motivated the NSS volunteers by giving motivational talk on moral values and ethics. He emphasized on the role of youth in building an ethically strong nation. The Guest of Honour on the occasion was Mr. Yogesh Dutt Sharma, Branch Manager, Syndicate Bank, Wazirpur, Gurgaon and Mr. M.L Meena, Marketing officer, Syndicate Bank, Wazirpur, Gurgaon. Both shared their experiences to make the NSS Volunteers aware of cash - less digital India and discussed its importance. Students also showed enthusiastic participation in the event. An NSS Volunteer Alia Anis of CSE Branch of the college gave a motivational talk on “Beti Bachoo and Beti Padao”.

Day-2 (17-02-2017) First Aid training Course
On the second day, Mr. Dharamveer delivered his lecture on First Aid to NSS Volunteers and Villagers at the college campus. He explained about fractures and how to help an injured person when they need our help. He explained importance of helping a person in need of First - Aid instead of turning away and thinking that it is wastage of time.
Day-3 (18-02-2017) Visit to Govt. School, Khentawas
On the Next day, volunteers went to Government Senior Secondary School, Khentawas along with NSS Program Officers. NSS volunteers organised drawing competition on the theme - Beti Bachao Beti Padho, Swach Bharat Abhiyan, Cash less India / Digital India in Govt. School. All the students took part enthusiastically.
Then a quiz was conducted by volunteers based on history of our nation. The best three performers were chosen. Finally, the moment to motivate the deserving ones came with a prize distribution ceremony for the winners of quiz and drawing competition. All the students were awarded according to their talents.

Day-4 (19-02-2017) Visit to Slum Area:
On the fourth day of the NSS Special Camp, volunteers visited a slum area. Over there, children of that area showcased their special talents, like singing song, poems and memorizing of mathematical tables etc. We made their parents aware about the benefits of educating their children. We also tried to spread awareness about sanitisation, Swatch Bharat and its importance. In the end, we distributed clothes, stationary items, and fruits.
Day-5 (20-02-2017) Debate Competition on Digital/Cashless India:
NSS volunteers organized debate competition in college campus on the theme Digital /Cashless India. Many students and volunteers participated. Some students spoke in favour of cashless some against it. Students, who were in favour, were more confident having strong evidence. In the evening NSS volunteers performed cultural program.
Day-6 (21-02-2017) Visit to Om Shanti Retreat Centre (ORC) Bhorakalan, Gurgaon:
The NSS volunteers visited the Om Shanti Retreat Centre of Brahma kumari’s (ORC) at Bhorakalan, Gurgaon. All volunteers were welcomed by sister Divya. She explained about Bhramakumaris and meaning of OM in detail. Sister Rajani delivered her lecture on Ego and Anger Management. During the lecture, she explained how to control ones Anger and Ego through meditation. After that, there was visit of Om Shanti Retreat Centre (ORC) campus.
Day 7th (22-02-2017) Closing Ceremony of Seven Day NSS Camp:
Closing Ceremony of Seven Day NSS special Camp was held on 22nd Feb. 2017. The Chief Guest of the function was Principal Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad, NSS Incharge Prof. (Dr.) Sri Krishan Yadav, Mr. Ashok Kumar and Dr. Jyoti Anand NSS program officers and NSS Volunteers were present during the closing ceremony of the camp. On this occasion, the chief guest explained how such kind of activities would be beneficial for society. He said that camp had been a good exposure for the students. He congratulated the NSS volunteers for the successful completion of the camp. NSS volunteer Himanshu recited patriotic poem on this occasion. Kavita and Nikita presented a speech on “Cashless/Digital India”. Vertika presented a speech on “Women Empowerment”. NSS Volunteer Upasana and Rohan presented seven day NSS Camp Activities The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Ashok Kumar, NSS Program Officer, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon.
