Workshop: “iOS Development: Building Applications for the Apple Ecosystem”

Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, organized a three-day workshop titled “iOS Development: Building Applications for the Apple Ecosystem”onNational Entrepreneurship Day from 7th to 9th November 2025. The resource person for the workshop was Mr. Vivek, an experienced iOS Developer Intern at Swiggy.
The workshop aimed to inspire innovation among students and encourage them to explore entrepreneurial prospects in the rapidly expanding field of mobile application development, particularly within the Apple ecosystem.
Bringing industry-level expertise to the sessions, Mr. Vivekprovided participants with practical insights into Apple’s development environment. His hands-on teaching approach enabled students to gain a strong foundational understanding of iOS development and motivated them to think creatively while addressing real-world challenges.
Throughout the three-day workshop, participants were taken through the complete workflow of iOS app development. Key topics covered included understanding iOS as a development platform, navigating and utilizing Xcode, and an introduction to SwiftUI, Apple’s modern UI framework. Students also learned the basic and intermediate components of SwiftUI and received step-by-step guidance on building their first functional iOS application.
The sessions maintained a balanced blend of theoretical explanations and extensive practical demonstrations. Students participated actively in live coding activities, debugging exercises, and user interface design tasks, boosting both their confidence and technical skills. The Speaker also shared valuable insights into emerging industry trends, job opportunities, and the entrepreneurial scope within the mobile app sector, motivating students to work on innovative concepts and pursue independent project development.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various branches and proved to be a productive and enriching learning experience. It aligned seamlessly with the objectives of National Entrepreneurship Day by promoting innovation, skill enhancement, and technological entrepreneurship. The college extends its sincere appreciation to the resource person, organizing committee, faculty coordinators, and student volunteers for their dedicated contributions, which played a crucial role in making the workshop a valuable and successful initiative for all attendees.
