IIC Regional Meet for the NWRO Zone 2025

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the IIC Regional Meet for the NWRO Zone 2025 on 25th November 2025 at G. L. Bajaj Institute of Technology & Management, Noida. The event served as a dynamic platform for higher education institutions to present their innovations, share successful practices in strengthening the Innovation & Entrepreneurship (I&E) ecosystem, and engage in pitching sessions for the YUKTI Innovation Challenge (YIC) 2025 and the AICTE Productization Fellowship (APF).
The meet celebrated the accomplishments of IIC institutions and fostered meaningful interactions among innovators, faculty members, startup founders, and ecosystem stakeholders. With participation from more than 500 institutions, the event provided ample opportunities for networking and collaboration. Dronacharya College of Engineering was represented by Mrs. Pooja Sharma (HoD, APS&H), Mrs. Neha Chauhan (HoD, ME), Mr. Ashwani Kumar (HoD, CSIT & CSE-Cyber), and Dr. Deepak Kumar (Associate Professor, APS&H).
The regional gathering enabled institutions to deepen their innovation frameworks by connecting with incubators, investors, knowledge partners, and national organizations dedicated to promoting innovation and startup growth. The full-day event featured exhibitions, creative showcases, open discussions, mentoring sessions, pitching rounds, and thematic talks by experts and ecosystem leaders. It concluded with awards recognizing exceptional innovators, IIC poster presenters, mentor institutions, and high-performing IIC teams.
A major highlight of the meet was the Round 2 evaluation and mentoring for YIC 2025 and APF participants. More than 4,000 nominated innovations and startups took part in these regional meets to present their ideas, receive guidance from angel investors and venture capital experts, and benefit from dedicated mentoring on pitching and idea development. Outstanding teams will move forward to the national-level startup bootcamp, where they will receive incubation support and funding from MoE’s Innovation Cell and AICTE.
Dronacharya College of Engineering showcased 8 teams (20 students) in the pitching and exhibition sessions. Impressively, 7 teams were shortlisted for YIC 2025 and 8 teams for APF 2025. The selected innovations included Geo Scan (Mukul Dahiya, AIML), Agro-Bandhu (Tashu Sansanwal, ECS – shortlisted for both YIC & APF), IoT Virtual Doctor Robot (Kumari Anshu, ECE), Green Printing (BN Vernika, ECE), Smriti (Manas Thakur, AIML), Orthophoto Intelligence (Priyanshu Aggarwal, AIML – shortlisted for both), MealX – Hunger Bridge (Nancy, CSE), and Kisaan Saathi (Yash Soni, RA – shortlisted for both). These projects highlighted the students’ creativity and their contribution to social, technological, and environmental innovation.
In conclusion, Dronacharya College of Engineering’s participation in the IIC Regional Meet significantly strengthened its presence in the national innovation ecosystem. The event enhanced collaboration with peer institutions, enriched the college’s innovation culture, and provided students with valuable exposure to expert mentoring and evaluation. The meet wrapped up with renewed motivation for future initiatives under IIC, YIC, and MoE’s innovation-driven programs.
