NSS Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp 2025

Two NSS volunteers from Dronacharya College of Engineering (DCE), Farrukhnagar -Ms. Garima (Roll No. 27060, CSE 3rd Sem) and Mr. Vinay Singh Shekhawat (Roll No. 27556, IoT 3rd Sem) - were selected by the Higher Education Department, Haryana, to participate in the prestigious North Zone NSS Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp 2025. Their selection from a large pool of candidates reflects the discipline, dedication, and leadership fostered by the NSS Unit at DCE. This achievement is a matter of pride for Gurugram district, as only a few students from Haryana qualified for this elite program.
The camp was held from 21st to 30th November 2025 at Chitkara University, Rajpura, Patiala, Punjab, under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and NSS Regional Directorate, Chandigarh. Bringing together 200 shortlisted volunteers from Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Ladakh, and Jammu & Kashmir, the camp is known for its rigorous training aimed at selecting candidates to represent the North Zone in the Republic Day Parade 2026 at Kartavya Path, New Delhi.
Over ten days, the volunteers underwent a highly disciplined and transformative schedule. Days began at 6:00 AM with Prabhat Pheri, followed by physical exercise, yoga, and meditation. The core focus remained on parade and drill practice, with instructors emphasizing posture, arm swing, coordination, and marching precision. Academic sessions on First Aid, Disaster Management, Cyber Security, Nation Building, and Personality Development enhanced the intellectual and personal growth of the participants. Evenings were devoted to cultural rehearsals that showcased the diverse traditions of participating states.
The training progressed from basic orientation and physical screening to advanced drill components such as Savdhan position, marching mechanics, squad formations, and synchronized movements. A mock selection on Day 7 prepared volunteers for the final assessment. On Day 8, the Central Selection Committee evaluated parade performance and cultural presentations. During this crucial evaluation, Garima and Vinay demonstrated exceptional discipline, synchronization, and composure, earning appreciation from officials.
The final days of the camp included relaxation activities, a valedictory ceremony, and certificate distribution. Volunteers returned home with enhanced confidence, leadership skills, and cherished memories of teamwork and national integration.
Overall, the NSS Pre-Republic Day Parade Camp 2025 was a remarkable journey of learning, growth, discipline, and national integration. The participation and selection of students from DCE stand as a proud achievement, reflecting the dedication and excellence upheld by the institution and its NSS volunteers.
