Commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’

NSS Units of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurugram, participated in the commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of India’s national song, “Vande Mataram”, which was composed by Bankimchandra Chatterjee in 1875. Aligned with the nationwide celebrations, this event was conducted with great patriotic fervor on 7th November 2025, at the campus. The celebration successfully integrated the live telecast of the national inaugural ceremony from the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi, with several meaningful activities that inspired national pride and unity among the students, faculty, and staff.
The event began with the mass singing of the full version of “Vande Mataram”. All participants joined together to proudly render this iconic song, reflecting the spirit of freedom and devotion to the motherland. Following this, the NSS Programme Officer, Dr. Anupam Dalal addressed the gathering, highlighting the song’s historical and cultural significance, especially its role in mobilizing patriotic awakening during India’s freedom movement.
At 10:25 AM, everyone attentively viewed the live telecast of the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s address from New Delhi. This moment connected the DCE community directly with the national leadership and reinforced the importance of celebrating this historic milestone across the nation. After the inspiring message, a Pledge of Unity was administered to all attendees, marking the collective commitment of the institute toward upholding national harmony, integrity, and solidarity.
The program concluded with the singing of the Haryana State Song, a heartfelt gesture honoring the cultural heritage of the state and reflecting the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Haryana,Nayab Singh Saini. This closing act added a strong sense of regional pride aligned with the national spirit of the celebration. The commemorative event successfully paid tribute to the timeless legacy of “Vande Mataram” and its distinguished creator.
