e-Yantra Lab inaugurated at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon

E-Yantra Lab was inaugurated at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon by Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad (Principal, DCE) in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Yadav (Registrar), Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar (Academic Administrator, DCE), HODs, Faculty members & students of various departments on January 16, 2015.
E-Yantra is a project by IIT Bombay with the avowed objective to spread education in Robotics & Embedded Systems. The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) sponsored E-Yantra under the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT). Prof. Kavi Arya and Prof. Krithi Ramamritham of IIT Bombay have conceptualized E-Yantra after years of experience in teaching embedded systems. E-Yantra Lab Setup Initiative (eLSI) is designed as a scalable and sustainable approach that addresses infrastructure creation and teacher training – to create an eco-system at the colleges to impart effective engineering education.
'E-Yantra' is a platform to harness the intellectual talent of young India to create utility based robotic applications across variety of applications such as: agriculture, manufacturing, defence, home, city maintenance and services industries. The overall mission is to grow a rich eco-system of ideas and applications that can propel India's growth curve and productivity through intelligent funnelling of robotics in daily living built upon an existing pool of knowledge developed by students working on such projects at engineering colleges in the area of embedded systems. Keeping the aforesaid objectives in mind this eYantra Lab has been established in DCE Gurgaon.Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K. Prasad (Principal, DCE) addressed the participants at MGM College (Noida) & other remote centers through video conferencing and highlighted the need and importance of eYantra Lab. Five faculty members of DCE, Gurgaon headed by Prof. Vishal Bharti (HOD, CSE) visited MGM College, Noida (Nodal Centre of eYantra Project for NCR) and did the virtual Lamp lighting through ICT for the eYantra lab of DCE,Gurgaon. At the end of the event, Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar(Academic Administrator, DCE) expressed hearty thanks to IIT Bombay & the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) for providing this wonderful platform for the professional upliftment of the faculty and students in the field of Robotics & Embedded Systems.
