IEEE TECHNICAL ACTIVITIES VOLUNTEER WORKSHOP ON 19 JAN 15
AT HYATT REGENCY NEW DELHI
Prof. (Mrs.) A.N.Mahajan attended IEEE Technical Activities Volunteer Workshop on 19th January 2015 at Hotel Hyatt Regency, New Delhi.
The vision of IEEE is to foster technological innovation and excellence for benefit of humanity. The main objective of the workshop was to spread the technical knowledge through various technical societies, communities, councils, journals, conferences, and periodicals etc. This workshop had been organized to communicate the rules and protocols regarding workshop, conferences, competitions and other IEEE activities to the IEEE volunteers in India, so that IEEE activities standard is maintained.
The event started with the talk by Mr. Vincenzo Piura on IEEE Vision and Structure. He presented the latest IEEE membership status worldwide and spoke of IEEE Technical Councils which are societies working together in broad areas of technology. Technical Councils sponsor member activities such as technical meetings, publishing, promoting educational activities, and developing standards.
Mr. Jacek Zurada was the next speaker. He delivered his talk on IEEE Publications. IEEE articles and standards are the most highly cited in US and European patents and IEEE journals continue to maintain rankings at the top of their fields.
Mr. William Moses was the third speaker and he delivered his talk on IEEE Conferences. He gave very useful information regarding organizing any IEEE conference. He also discussed various rules that are required to be followed for organizing a conference. Mr. V. Prasad Kodali spoke about IEEE Technical Educational Activities. He informed about various student activities, competitions and challenges for students. The workshop was extremely useful to understand various rules, regulations and guidance to organize IEEE workshops, activities and conferences.
