INVITED TALK AT INDIAN SCIENCE CONGRESS ASSOCIATION
[ISCA] (3-7 JAN 2015) AT UNIVERSITY OF MUMBAI, MAHARASHTRA
Prof. (Dr.) K.K. Saini (Electronics & Communication Engineering) had attended & delivered an invited talk in the Indian Science Congress Association [ISCA] at University of Mumbai, Maharashtra from 3rd-7th Jan 2015.
The Congress Session brought together eminent scientists and research scholars to popularize science and foster a scientific temperament among the scientists and researchers. The theme for 102nd ISC was "Science and Technology for Human Development”. The plenary sessions, symposia and deliberations in different sessions were very enriching and fruitful. Several symposia on relevant themes - Women’s Science Congress, Children Science Congress, Science Exhibition, etc. were organized during the session. The 05 day event saw deliberations and presentation of papers by the scientific fraternity from across the globe. More than 12,000 delegates from all over the country participated in the ISCA 2015. Nobel Laureates, a number of eminent scientists and resource persons from India and abroad shared their experiences in the Science Congress.
The 102nd session of ISCA commenced from 3rd January, 2015 after its formal inauguration by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Dr. Harshvardhan, Union Human Resource Minister, Ms. Smriti Irani. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnawis and Governor of Maharashtra, Shri Vidyasagar Rao & other dignitaries attended the Conference.
A large scientific exhibition was organized at the MMRDA Grounds in nearby Bandra-Kurla Complex, which showcased various science & technology innovations by Indian firms and organizations. ISRO and DRDO also participated in this mega exhibition. University of Mumbai had made arrangements to web-cast some of the key sessions of the Congress. A daily web-bulletin covering various aspects of the Congress was compiled and published by the students of University’s Mass Communication Department. Overall, this Congress provided knowledge and exposure to the latest research and developments taking place all over the world.
