NATIONAL PROJECT COMPETITION (DRONSPARK - 15)
15th - 16th October 2015
Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organised a National Level Project Competition to nurture the technical involvement of students while learning theoretical concepts and to exchange ideas. The event commenced on Student’s Day.
The motive of Dronspark was to provide a platform for the students to implement and showcase their creative ideas through the technical Models. Authentic assessment and evaluation of these projects allowed to systematically documenting a student's progress and development. It also allowed student to demonstrate their capabilities while working independently and also the ability to apply desired skills such as doing research.
Total of 120 applications were received out of which 81 projects were shortlisted from various institutes across India and the same were exhibited in this Project competition. Participating Colleges in the competition: YMCA (Faridabad), SRCC (Delhi University), B.H. Gardi College of Engineering & Technology (Gujrat), Atmiya Institute of Technology & Science (Gujrat), KIET, Ghaziabad, JMIT (Radaur), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, etc. participated in the competition.
The competition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Professor Sudhir K. Atreya, Chief Design Engineer at IIT Delhi. During his inauguration speech he enlightened on the fact that identifying a problem is as important as finding a solution to a problem. The event was graced by Principal Prof. Dr. B M K Prasad and delegates from other Colleges.
The projects were evaluated by eminent professionals from industry and academicians. The panel of judges included:

• Dr Shatendra. K. Sharma, Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University
• Mr. Sanjay Vohra, ? IEDC Head, Acharya Narendra Dev College
The projects were judged on the basis of innovation, commercial implications, complexity of technology adopted, societal impact and contribution and clarity of expression and presentation. The contestants were judged in two rounds on various criteria where they demonstrated their projects and ideas.
The prize money awarded were Rs. 51000/-, Rs. 21000/- and Rs. 11000/- to each of 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders at the competition. A consolation prize of Rs. 5100/- was awarded to every 3 entries in each category.

The event concluded with a Valedictory session by Mr. Sanjay Vohra. This event provided a very good technical platform to the future technocrats and engineers.
