Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive

The Entrepreneurship cell of IIT Kharagpur in association with Mahindra Rise organised for Entrepreneurship Awareness Drive on 23rd October 2015 at Ansal University, Gurgaon. Campus Ambassadors Priya Yadav, CSE Department andVikrant Singhal, Civil Engineering Department along with Twenty Students from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event.
The sessions were graced by the esteemed presence of:
1. Mr. Prajakt Raut, Co-Founder at Applyifi and Founder at the Hub for Startups,
2. Mr. Vineet Singh Co-Founder, CEO Buildzar.com,
3. Mr. Hari Kishan Nallan Chakravartula, Co-Founder and CEO at Think Design,
4. Mr. Harsh W. Mishra, Founder and President, Indian School of Entrepreneurship, iSEED
5. Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Angel Investor, Managing Partner Appsdome Ventures.
The participants were introduced to the various terms related to entrepreneurship and were explained about the growth of Startups. The event was organised to promote Entrepreneurship and encourage the students to initiate one’s own enterprise. The motive of the session was to
1. encourage budding entrepreneurs to broaden up the knowledge,
2. develop ideas of their startups
3. clear their doubts about starting up ventures
4. accessing the risk taking ability in starting up of a new business.
Mr. Vineet Singh who has an extensive knowledge on the basics of start-ups, during his session, stressed upon the need of an effective execution of ideas. He shared his experience about the difference in ideas on paper and execution by quoting “Idea is just 1% of starting up”.
Mr. Hari Kishan through his presentation discussed designing part with the students and about the importance of Designing of products. He emphasized more on the differences between a designers approach to projects and person with a different profile. He also added that designing visuals are a much better approach towards realising the importance of designing.
Mr. Harsh W. Mishra, strategy/entrepreneur professor, chair international relations said that according to him entrepreneurs are known to have brought prosperity and peace to civilizations. The era for entrepreneurs has once again begun, calling for manifestation of such potential.
Mr. Prajakt Raut mentors early stage companies on strategy and business model, fund raising/bootstrapping and on preparing the company for growth. He advised startups and early stage companies on building meaningful business plans and investor pitch decks.
The event ended with an interactive question and answer sessions where the students raised their doubts about the risks involved in starting up a business and various other questions about entrepreneurship. This event has surely broadened the concept of entrepreneurship.
