Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Quiz

The Embassy of Sweden as a part of the Sweden–India Nobel Memorial Week celebration organized the annual quiz contestThe Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Quiz. The event was held at Indraprastha College for Women, Delhi on October 16th, 2015. 786 students of 62 colleges from all over India participated in the Quiz, 2015. Three students from Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon namely Mr.Tejasvi Anand(17159), Mr.Sneh Kumar(17146) & Mr.Abhinav (17003) of third semester of Computer Science & Engineering department participated as a team in the quiz.
The objective behind the Sweden–India Nobel Memorial Week celebration was also to celebrate the Swedish innovations, creativity and of strengthening the relations between India and Sweden. The Week celebrated the spirit and contribution of the Swedish innovator, entrepreneur & philanthropist Alfred Nobel. The broad theme of the quiz was
1. Dr. Alfred Nobel,
2. The Nobel Prize,
3. Nobel Laureates
4. Innovations and inventions made by the Swedish scholars.
The quiz was hosted by architect and quiz master Mr. Kunal Savarkar. Candidates were shortlisted in the Qualifying Round and appeared in Grand Finale. The Sweden India Nobel Memorial Quiz brought together quizzers to this prestigious quiz which included both under graduate and post graduate students from across reputed colleges.
Mr. Mikael Johansson, Second Secretary (Political Affairs) as a representative from Sweden embassy addressed the event. In his speech he focused on the higher education opportunities provided by Sweden along with an insight of what major companies from Sweden contribute to the betterment and development of India.
Winners from different colleges of Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Guwahati, Ahmedabad and New Delhi represented their individual cities at the Grand Finale. The team from Hyderabad won the national final. As a National winner they got an all-expense paid trip to Sweden, where they would get an opportunity to visit headquarters of partner companies, universities and the Nobel Museum.
At the end students were honoured by participation certificates signed by Ambassador of Sweden in India.
