Second Position in Technical Event @ IEEE Day

A day long fiesta of technical event series “RENAISSANCE” was conducted by Guru Teg Bahadur Institute of Technology, Delhi on 10th October 2015 for celebrating the IEEE Day. Thirty Five students from Department of Computer Science & Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the various technical events.
The main objective of the event was to showcase the hidden technical talent among the engineering students. These events helped to enhance the technical knowledge of IEEE amongst the student community and gave an idea about those things which although not a part of academic curriculum but are important for practical purpose.
The event started with an inaugural session and all the participants were welcomed to the event through a motivational speech by Mr. Mukesh Sahu, Branch Counsellor.
The following competitions took place at the event:
1. SNAKES V/S ENGINEERS game was conducted by the student branch members. The participants were given questions to answer and with each correct answer, they qualified to the next stage. The one, who answered the maximum questions, was the winner. Two students from Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Dheeraj Dixit (16050) and Jaspal Ramola (16950) V Semester of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon secured the second position in this event and received a cash prize of Rs. 1000/-.
2. BLOGGING COMPETITION was organized to provide a platform to the participants to put up their thoughts in form of blogs. The participants were judged on the basis of the likes acquired by them on social media.
3. SKETCH SQUASH tested the artistic skills of participants wherein, they were asked to draw intriguing posters with eye catchy slogans.
4. IMPERSONATION was an initiative by WIE IEEE GTBIT, to promote leadership skills amongst girls. The event was organised for girls, to give them a chance to impersonate their idols.
5. GD/PI gave a real life experience of the competitive scenarios that students may find themselves in the tenure of their professional life.
6. TechQuIEEEz gave the participants overall exposure to the various latest technologies and advancements around the world. They were tested on skills based on the technological happenings around the world.
7. CODE EXTREME tested the coding skills of the participants based on the coding languages like C, C++, JAVA.
The event concluded by distribution of certificates and goodies to the winners.
