Prof. Jitender Kumar and Dr. Khushboo Rinawa , Assistant Professor, Applied Sciences & Humanities Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon presented the proposal on Waste Management at Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai, Maharashtra on 02nd Feb 2016 .
Thirty - six proposals on Waste Management from various institutes and organizations were shortlisted by Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India for financial support under Waste Management Programme of Technology Systems Development Programme for the final presentation in the presence of Expert Advisory Committee (EAC). The event was reserved for two days 01st and 02nd Feb 2016. 26 presentations were reserved for 01st Feb and 10 presentations for 02nd Feb 2016.
Other than the proposal from Dronacharya College of Engineering Gurgaon, proposals from IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute (CSIR – CMERI) Durgapur (West Bangal), Central Salt And Marine Chemicals Research Institute (CSMCRI) Bhavnagar (Gujrat), Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (CSIR - AMPRI) Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Central Building Research Institute (CSIR-CBRI)Roorkee (Uttarakhand), Advanced Materials Laboratory Structural Engineering Research Centre Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Bridges & Structures Division Central Road Research Institute (CSIR-CRRI) Delhi, Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) Post - RRL, Bhubaneswar (Odisha), National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology(NIIST) Thiruvananthapuram (Tamilnadu), Govt. College of Engineering & Ceramic Technology, Kolkata (West Bengal), Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) Mohali (Punjab), Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) Bhubaneswar (Odhisha), Centre for Materials for Electronics Technology (C-MET) Hyderabad (Telangana), VIT University Vellore (Tamilnadu), Amrita University Coimbatore (Tamilnadu) and some other renowned organizations were shortlisted for the presentation.
On 02nd Feb 2016, 06th presentation of the day (First post Lunch) was delivered by Dr. Jitender Kumar and Dr. Khushboo Rinawa of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on “Development of Neem based air wig and multilevel shredder technology for hospital waste management”. Logic behind using Neem Extract instead of any other chemical, the flow chart of entire process, Time deadlines, Budget, SWOT analysis, Salient features of Proposal, Scheme for work, Road map to commercialization etc. were presented in detail in front of the eminent Expert Advisory Committee. The committee welcomed the thought and proposed to chip away at a little example to discover the outcomes regarding prerequisite of Neam concentrate for 01 Kg of plastic waste.
