Second Position in Code Mania 2016

A programming contest “Code Mania” was organized at the Amity Youth Fest by Amity University, Noida on 19th-20th February 2016. Ujjwal Choudhary (17940) and Vipanshu Parashar (17947) students of Computer Science & Information Technology department at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon secured the Second Position in the contest receiving a stepper worth Rs 7500.
The contest was to test knowledge of coding skills. Participants required to have the basic knowledge of programming languages like C, C++, Java, .Net etc.
The fest was a gathering of Students from different Universities & Colleges. The objective of the fest was to create a forum for the students comprising of all elements of experiential learning, to test their intellectual and artistic prowess, simultaneously opening avenues for sharing mutual experience, skills and talent & to reach their collective and individual aspirations, in the field of culture, literary and other activities on a common platform.
The Code Mania consisted of three rounds. The first round had questions regarding basic knowledge of programming. The second round consisted of tricky questions. The third round was a complete surprise round. The participation could only be in a team of two or individual.
The first two were eliminators and the third and the final round was time based. The judges had their own test cases and if any one test case fails the team was eliminated.
The first twelve teams qualified first round and were promoted to the second round. Only six teams were promoted to the final round. The students of DCE, Gurgaon were successful in clearing the first two rounds and were given 2nd position in the third round based on time and code accuracy.The winners were awarded prize worth:
1. 1st prize worth Rs. 10,000
2. 2nd Prize worth Rs. 7,500
3. 3rd Prize worth Rs. 5,000
4. Goodies were provided to every participant.
It was a good learning experience for the students.
