Workshop on Microsoft Azure

Microsoft Innovation Centre, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, India organized “Microsoft Azure Workshop” on 31st August 2017. The event was conducted by the Microsoft Student Partners (MSPs). The MSPs who conducted the session are Kanika Saluja, Mandeep Singh, Nitin Manocha, Vertika Shukla, Neha Kumari, Prakriti, SanatanJha. 40 students from different domains of Engineering attended the workshop.
The main aim of the workshop was to introduce the students to Microsoft Azure and the technologies that Microsoft provides.
In the event, the MSPs focus was on: Microsoft Virtual Academy(MVA), Channel9, Microsoft Imagine Cup, Cloud Computing, Azure Portals and Overview on Azure, Building, Hosting and Deployment of a web application through Azure. Participants were also given demonstration and hands-on practice on Microsoft Virtual Academy (MVA) and channel9.
Participants were guided about the portal and services provided by azure. They were also taught how to build, test, deploy and manage applications using Azure.
Second half of the workshop focused on cloud computing. Cloud Computing is the use of hardware and software to deliver a service over a network (typically the Internet). The advantages and features of cloud computing were detailed to students.
The workshop ended with a competition in which students were asked to build and deploy a basic web application. The workshop was informative and knowledgeable.
