Visit to 7 BRD Air Force Station

IEEE Student Chapter,Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized a visit to “7 BRD Air Force Station, Tughlakabad, New Delhi”on 18th August 2017. Ms. Parul Bansal (Assistant Professor, ECE Dept) along with 25 students from 3rd Semester ECE, EEE and ECS Departments visited Air Force Station.
The team was welcomed by the visit coordinator A. Mohapatra and others officers of the BRD. A brief introduction of Air Force was given by SQN LDR Arinjay Jain. He discussed the career opportunities for engineering students in Air Force and motivated the students to make an in depth study of their subjects. The students visited different squadrons, sites, hangars and laboratories inside the campus. Some electronic and electrical systems/equipments like P-18 and P-19 radar, ST-68 radar, Parabolic Antenna reflector, Horn antenna, Yagi antennas, INDRA-II radar and Remote Test Equipment etc. with AFNET Equipment Room and Equipment Calibration Unit were demonstrated to the students by the specialists at different sites.
It was an informative visit for the students as it gave an opportunity to the students to have a closer look at various complicated equipment used for defence of the country and they learnt about various equipments which are used by Indian Air Force of our country such as Air Defence Radar and Missile deployment system and different missile guidance systems.
