Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp
8th - 10th August, 2017
Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp” in association Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Ahmedabad from 8th - 10th August 2017.
The three day program was conducted to give participants a learning environment and help them indulge in activities that would motivate them to face real world challenges.
DAY 1: CLASSROOM ACTIVITY:
An entrepreneurial awareness session was organized on 8th August, 2017, to judge the extent to which students are aware of the entrepreneurial world. In the session, the coordinators had organized various activities. Sakshi Sanghwan, (EDC Student Coordinator) started the session by explaining the basic idea of entrepreneurship and the trends in entrepreneurship in today’s scenario. She also illustrated and highlighted the efforts made by DCE in the field of entrepreneurship. Next Nishant Singhania, (EDC Student Coordinator) motivated students by telling them life story of various successful entrepreneurs, the struggles they faced in achieving their goals. Then Deepesh, (EDC Student Coordinator) explained the Marketing phase. He stated, “Marketing is a total system of business activities designed to plan price promotes and distribute wants-satisfying products to target markets to achieve organizational objectives.”
An activity was organized where the participants were asked to market the product. Participants were excited to market some products. With the activity participants understood the objectives of marketing is to ascertain consumer needs, convert them into ideas, products or services and move such ideas etc. to the final consumer or user, to satisfy certain needs and wants of specific consumer segments with emphasis on profitability, ensuring the optimum use of the resources available to the organization.
Day 2:GUEST LECTURE:
A guest lecture was organized on 9th August 2017. Mr. Anil Kumar Goswami (alumni DCE Scientist E/ Joint Director in DRDO) was invited to enrich the students regarding new trends in “Machine Learning”.
The event started with a welcome address by Honorable Principal, Prof. (Dr.) B.M.K Prasad who has a vision that every student of the college should be able to participate in the process of making our country achieving economic stability and sustainable development.
Mr. Anil Goswami started the session by explaining the exact meaning of Machine Learning. He stated Machine learning is an application of artificial intelligence (AI) that provide systems the ability to automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning focuses on the development of computer programs that can access data and use it for learning. He took various live examples of satellites and explained the trends in Machine learning. He explained various topics like, Design and Development of Decision. Support Systems and Knowledge Based Systems which exploit Computational Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence, Pattern and Object Recognition, Image Processing and Classification, Feature Extraction, Data Mining, Swarm Intelligence, etc.
He also explained the theory of Markov Random Fields including the fundamentals.
Day 3: Industrial Visit to Amul
On 10th August 2017, Mrs. Poonam Yadav (Assistant Professor, IT Dept.) along with 51 students from IT, CS&IT, ECS, ECE and EEE Departments of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon visited the Dudhmansagar Dairy of Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers Union Limited (Amul), Manesar, Gurgaon.
The visit was organized under Entrepreneurship Development Cell with the aim of providing the students a brief understanding of the various automaton techniques involved in a dairy plant.
