In the expo, Nikhil Kaushik exhibited his project Solar Power Automated Robotic Cleaning. The project is a machine built to support the social cause - SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAAN. The machine incorporates various components to provide the municipal committees with a finished end product that will help them make the cleaning process a fully automatized task. The machine runs on Solar Power and has features like ‘No Fuel’ Machine; ‘No Electricity’ Machine; Cost Efficient; Reduces Man Power required; Easy to use and Maintain. Many industry people and academicians showed their interest in the project.
Chandan Kumar presented his project on “Self-Sustainable model for Rural Electrification”. It provides Day and Night Lighting System without using external electrical connection. It provides green energy (Sun and Wind) production with the intelligent distribution grid system of solar and wind energy. The intelligent hybrid distribution system selects the best suitable source of energy for maximum output. The prototype model provides zero cost lighting for Day Time. It can be transformed into a Street Light.
Amandeep and Deepak Kaushik also showcased their project “Plastic Brick”. Plastic brick made up of plastic waste is effective and efficient way of reducing the quantity of plastic waste lying on earth. Due to its non-biodegradable properties it is considered a waste and is dumped in landfills, streams & oceans further increasing their pollution. Plastic is a boon if utilized properly and can solve a number of engineering problems. It is a form of hydrocarbon that has more mechanical properties than any other material, and this makes it a more valuable material then others. The compressive strength of plastic brick made from plastic waste has an excellent strength of 378.28 N/mm square, which is almost 11 times stronger than standard brick and 18 times stronger than the ordinary brick and weighs almost 1/3 times lighter than a clay brick.
The experience of attending such an event was amazing. Students from different colleges had participated there in the exhibition. Many projects from different colleges were very inspiring and the students learnt a lot from the creators of such projects.
