Microsoft Imagine Cup 2016 - First Step towards Reality, Technology and Success

Aayushi Nayak (17762) from ECS Department and Anish Gupta (17018) from CSE Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon participated in the World Citizenship Category of the famed Microsoft Imagine Cup - 2016.
“Imagine a world where technology helps solve the toughest problems”. Being inspired from this phrase that addresses the theme of Imagine Cup - 2016 i.e. “The Global Student Technology Competition”
Microsoft Imagine Cup is an annual competition sponsored and hosted by Microsoft Corporation, which brings together young technologists worldwide to help resolve some of the world's toughest challenges. Around 183 countries host these miscellaneous events, which are the part of Imagine Cup.
Concerned about the various zones of society; the Dronacharyans decided to work for visually impaired people to help them overcome their biggest weakness and registered in the world citizenship category with the project “Density based traffic signal with GSM Module”. This project will help to provide the emergency services as fast as possible.
On 12th April, 2016 results for the India National Finalist were declared and the DCE Team was selected among Top 11 in the World Citizenship Category from the estimated 1000+ teams who registered for the same.
On 22nd April, 2016 - (Presentation Session) the participants were briefed by Mr. Venkatesh Sarwasiddhi, Country Head, Microsoft about the event held at JW Marriot, Aerocity, New Delhi.
The judges’ panel comprised of the honorable Members of dignified firms and institutions, including the Head Reporter from CNBC Awaz, Member of Press, and Microsoft Developers etc.
On 22nd April, 2016 (Exhibition Session) All teams were supposed to exhibit their projects to well-known dignitaries who came to the event as Chief Guest namely:-
1. Joseph Landes, General Manager DPE, Microsoft India
2. Naveen Asrani, Oracle Director, Product Management
3. Swati Bhargav, founder of cashkaro.com
The DCE, Gurgoan Team was among the top 4 selected teams.
The event gave a constructive direction to the energy of the participants and the competition was a great experience for the students to learn new things, new gadgets and miscellaneous other products of Microsoft.
