The e-Yantra Principal's Meet

One day "The e-Yantra Principal's Meet" was organized by MGM College of Engineering & Technology, Noida on 23rd June, 2017. The event was organized under the e-Yantra Lab Set up initiative (eLSI) and was sponsored by IIT Mumbai & MHRD, National Mission on Education through ICT. Mr. Krishanu Kundu (Assistant Professor) from Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon attended the event. Representatives of different Engineering colleges from Delhi NCR & other parts of Northern region also attended the event.
The objective of the event was to motivate self financing Engineering Colleges to undertake e-Yantra Lab Set up initiative & spread quality education in Embedded System & Robotics. One of the initiatives under e-Yantra project is lab set up that supports the infrastructure creation at colleges by providing a platform for training teachers in Robotics.
Event started with registration of the participants. Resource person for the event was Dr. Krishna Lala, Project Manager from IIT Bombay. In inaugural session Dr. Krishna Lala briefed participants the mission and vision of the eLSI project. She explained the idea is to incorporate embedded system and robotics into engineering education with the objective of engaging students and teachers through exciting hands - on application of engineering principles.
In her speech Dr. Krishna Lala raised the issues related to Engineering student’s employability in present scenario. She elaborated the mission of e-Yantra eLSI project is to empower students using project based learning (PBL) to build an innovative ecosystem. She also highlighted initiatives taken by IIT Bombay under e-Yantra project such as: Robotics competition, LSI, Ideas competition, Symposium, summer internship, workshop, RDC & Farm Set up initiative. Dr. Lala also quoted the statistics of 2017 Ideas.
Dr. Lala encouraged representatives from eSLI colleges to undertake e-Yantra Resource Development Centre (eYRDC) & e-Yantra Farm set up Initiative more seriously. In her speech Dr. Lala highlighted the goals as well as benefits of eYRDC and eFSI.
At the end, Dr. Lala explained the participants' importance of robotics and motivated them to encourage their students to use this embedded skill for building a professional career on the field of Robotics.
The session was innovative and helpful for the participants.
