Digital India Week Celebration

Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon organized The Digital India Week from 2nd – 7th July 2015, in college campus.
Day 1 : July 1, 2015
The Prime Minister of India, Sh. Narendra Modi pitched a digital revolution by inaugurating “Digital India Week” on July 01,2015 at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, New Delhi. Digital India has been envisioned as an ambitious umbrella programme to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge. Deepak Chandel, fourth year student from Department of Computer Science & Engineering, got official invitation from Ministry of Communication & Information Technology, Government of India to attend the inauguration of Digital India Week & Online event attaended by students and Faculty member at DCE, Gurgaon.
Day 2: July 2, 2015
A quiz on Digital India Week was conducted at Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. The objective to organize such a quiz was to educate the students on functional digital literacy, cyber security, cyber hygiene, ensure better utilization of Digital infrastructure during the Digital India Week and beyond. Students from various department participated in the Quiz. Digital India is an impressive initiative taken by Government of India to involve every category of people in understanding the usage and advantages of Digitization.
Day 3: July 3, 2015
Mr. Chandra Shekhar Singh, Associate professor, ECE Department along with Ms. Charu Jain, Assistant Professor, EEE Department along with 28 students from Department of Electrical and Electronics Engg, Department of Electronics and Communication Engg, Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering visited the Centre for e-Governance, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) Electronics Niketan, New Delhi. The purpose of visit was to understand the initiatives being taken by the Government of India under the Digital India Week.
As a part of the 'Digital India Week' undertaken by the Government of India, IIT Bombay showcased projects to empower the nation through Education Technology. The inauguration of the event was done by Prof. Deepak B. Phatak, IIT Bombay.
Day 4: 4 July, 2015
A one-day workshop on “Robotics and Advanced Embedded Systems” was organized by e-Yantra Robotics Lab atDronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, as a part of the Digital India Various modules such as interfacing of I/O Devices, motion control, velocity control using PWM and the interfacing of Analog and Digital Converter were executed. During the workshop, 60 students from various branches participated in the event. The students made various projects using the SPARK V kit.
Day 5: July 6, 2015
Ms. Parul Bansal, Assistant Professor, ECS Department along with Ms. Charu Jain, Assistant Professor, EEE Department along with 27 students from various departments visited the Centre for e-Governance, Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) Electronics Niketan.
At DeitY, the session was taken by Mr. Sunil Kumar, CeGov Project Manager, in which he talked about the various aspects of the e-Governance such as its definition, evolution, policies and most importantly services.
Day 6: July 7, 2015
Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering organized an Online Quiz Contest for the students enrolled in the “Summer School on Robotics and Advanced Embedded Systems”, which is presently running in our college. Around 60 students appeared in the quiz contest. The Quiz Contest planned in Digital India Week was especially sponsored by CDAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing), New Delhi.
