InfoComm Technology Show was organized by FICCI, National e-Governance Plan and Department of Electronicsand Information Technology, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India on22nd July 2015 at The Lalit, New Delhi. It showcased the incubated ideas from industry players and experts. A seminar on“Integrated Digital Solutions for a Smarter India” held at InfoComm India 2015.
Mr. Amar Saraswat, Assistant Professor, (Computer Science & Engineering department) of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon, attended the event.
Mr. Virat Bhatia, Chairman, Communications & Digital Economy Committee, FICCI welcomed the delegates and gave the opening address.
Mr. Jonathan Seller, Sr. Director of Development Asia-Pacific InfoComm International gave a presentation on Global AV growth and introduced to InfoComm. He explained that InfoComm International is the leading resource for AV market research, news and deals along with training and education programs. It is separately administered Certified Technology Specialist and corporately administered Certified Audiovisual Solutions Provider credentials, which is set a standard of excellence for AV professionals. He focussed on certain factors which will lead to attain the dream of Digital India.
Mr. Richard Tan, Executive Director, InfoComm Asia Pvt. Ltd. focussed on “Communications in the Digital Era: The InfoComm Experience”. He said that a lot of emphasis has been given to digitalization and creation of smart cities but he added that networked solutions by integrating broadband, mobile platform, IT software and services along with A/V systems which form the basis of active usage, will surely help in transforming today’s India into a digitally inclusive and empowered India.
A special address on “Embedding Technologies Propelling Digital India”, by Shri R. M. Agarwal, DDG (NT), Department of Telecommunications & IT, Government of India in which he listed all the efforts done to make India digitally sound by using IPv6, M2M Devices ,Sensors and Cloud Computing. Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Member of Parliament discussed about Technology Entrepreneur on embedding technology in Governance for driving a Digital India.
A panel discussion on “Leveraging information communications technology in building India’s digital future” was initiated. Ms. Utpalparna Hazarika, Executive Director, Computerization & Information Security, Ministry of Railways,Mr. George Kuruvilla, Director, Broadcast Engineering Consultants India Ltd. (Ministry of Information & Broadcasting),Mr. Manoj Dawane, Vice President & Head of Technology, Government Industry Relations Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility, Ericsson India Pvt. Ltd, Mr. Sandeep Aurora, CMO, Intel, Mr. Pankaj Mohindroo, National President, India Cellular Association, Mr. Vikram Tiwathia, Deputy Director General, COAI, Mr. Ambrish Bakaya, Director, Corporate Affairs, Hewlett Packard India, Mr. Sanjay Bhasin, trustee & Deputy Chairman, Action Centre for Smart and Broadband Bharat (ACSBB) along with Mr. Jonathan Seller participated in the discussion. It was moderated by Mr. Virat Bhatia. In the discussion the speakers gave their opinions and discussed certain ways to make India digitally sound.
