Microsoft Digital India Hackathon (July 29th-30th , 2015)

To empower the students digitally and to aware them about the motive of Digital India Mission by the Government of India, Microsoft India organized 2 days Digital India Hackathon in Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on July 29th-30th 2015. Senior Microsoft trainers Shyamal Pandya and Hardik Mistry were present to provide the training to college students on Microsoft Azure, Windows 8.1 and Window 10 Development and clouding technologies. Prof. (Dr.) B M K Prasad (Principal), Prof. (Dr.) Jitender Kumar (Academic Administrator), Mrs. Megha Goel (MIC Head), andMicrosoft Student Partners (MSPs) were present at the inauguration of the Hackathon.
After the inauguration of hackathon, Day 1 of the Digital India Hackathon went with full swing as the students discuss about their different ideas on which they can develop apps which will help in empowering the people of the country. Microsoft trainers also point out the areas in which students can undergo their research and can develop the apps. They also discuss about the various projects which got selected for Microsoft Imagine Cup and motivate the students to develop such projects so that their projects can also be selected for that level. After a brief there was a hands on session in the labs to implement the app work so that student can learn on their own to implement the app and to make the changes according to their own.
Students were very excited for the second day of the hackathon as the second day started with the implementation of apps on Microsoft Azure. Microsoft Azure is a world of possibilities to learn new things and implement the new apps on it. Universal Windows 8.1 apps were also deployed by the students. The trainers from Microsoft also explained how the students can use this in their routine life. The best part of the second day was trainers account for innovative ideas from students on Digital India which they can implement to empower the society in any possible manner. The students of the college came out with different ideas and MS trainers promised to provide their full technical support for the implementation of their ideas.
The 2 days Microsoft Digital India Hackathon ended with a lot of positive vibes amongst the students as they are very much motivated & charged to develop something innovative for the empowerment of the society. The students were very much happy to be a part of such national level event in which they learnt a lot of new things.MS trainers were very much amazed and excited after seeing the interest of the college students related to Microsoft technology. They promised to provide their technical support to the college. College administration also thanked Microsoft officials for coming to college and providing training to students.
