Two teams (Team 1 of students Rashi Sharma, (ECS), Amit (CSIT), Prashant Yadav(CSIT) and Dona Paul (ECS) and Team 2 of students Manan Bhardwaj (IT), V. Sai Anila (IT) and Tamanna Sood (IT), Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon bagged two prizes under the guidance of their project mentor Ms. Neha Verma in NES Innovation Awards 2018.
Natarajan Education Society (NES) has established a national award program that will be administered through an innovation identification mission that will span academic institutions across the country and identify the best ideas / student projects that have scalability and commercial potential. The prestigious award was alienated into three parts, the Workshop, Concept presentation and Awards function.
The First phase of competition started on 13th January 2018, when four teams from the college reached their first milestone by securing their position in the Top 50 amongst the thousands of students who participated in the competition. The workshop was conducted on 23rd Jan 2018 where the students gained insight on how to design a business model out of their project and guidelines to submit the project based video. After successfully submitting the business model and project video towards the competition, students qualified for the Concept Presentation or the Jury Round scheduled on 16th and 17th February 2018. On 16th and 17th February 2018, four teams from IT, CSE and ECS branches along with their project mentor Mrs. Neha Verma (Assistant Professor) participated in JURY ROUND of NES Innovation Awards 2017 - 18 held at Global Talent Track, Mundhwa, Pune.
On 29th March 2018 Team 1 Project “IoT Based Smart Wheelchair” was declared as WINNER of the competition. They were awarded with total cash prize of 50,000 Rs along with the trophy and certificates for team members. Team 2 Project “Mobile Assistive Application for visually impaired” was awarded with Viewer’s Choice Award. The students received a trophy and certificates.
