AICTE SPONSORED FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON ADVANCED DEVELOPMENTS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) sponsored Faculty Development Programme was organized from16th to 27th March 2015 by Department of Mechanical Engineering of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon on “ADVANCED DEVELOPMENTS IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING”. The program was attended by more than fifty faculty members from various colleges of different states of India and was organized in the Seminar Hall of Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon. Many eminent speakers delivered their talk on various Advanced Developments in Mechanical Engineering in this two week program. The programme was inaugurated on 16th March 2015 by Dr. S. K. Varshney Scientist & Director at International Bilateral Cooperation, Govt. of India in the presence of Principal Prof. (Dr.) B. M. K. Prasad.
The event commenced with a short introduction of the programme by convener of the program Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Bagga. He briefed the audience that the objective of this programme is to enlighten the faculty members about various advances in the field of Mechanical engineering.
The distinguish scholars & experts across the nation like Dr. S. K. Varshney (Scientist F/ Director, International Bilateral Coorporation, DST, Govt. of India), Dr. Ved Varun Agrawal (Scientist, National Physical Laboratory), Dr. Atma Ram Shukla (Advisor, Bio Energy, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Govt. of India) , Dr. P. M. V. Subbarao, (Professor & Associate Dean, Mechanical Department, IIT Delhi), Dr. S. N. Joshi (Scientist & National Coordinator, CERI, Pilani), Sh. Vipin Kumar (CIO, Escorts Limited), Mr. Dinesh Chandra Sharma (Sr. Manager, Madhusudan Auto Limited), Dr. Prabal Talukdar (Associate Professor, Mechanical Department, IIT Delhi), Mr. Stuart Gitsham (Wealth Management Consultant, Devere Group India Investment Advisors Pvt. Ltd), Ms. Naho Shigeta (Managing Director, Infobridge Holdings Group Limited, Gurgaon), Mr. Pankaj Arora (Sr. Manager R&D from Maruti Suzuki), Dr. B. Premachandran (Associate Prof., Mechanical Department, IIT Delhi) etc. enlightened the participants on advancement in Mechanical engineering during this two week program.
Detailed lectures were delivered & thought explained to the faculties on many topics mainly Robotics, Thermal engineering, Heat Transfer, Mechatronics, Fluid Mechanics, Automatic Control, Automobile Engineering, CAD/CAM, Engineering Design & manufacturing Engineering etc. Experts also explained Heat and Mass Transfer in Non-Newtonian Fluids & Advances in Additive Manufacturing Processes and Materials. During this two week program, speakers coated numerous developments in Mechanical engineering with specific reference.
At the closing ceremony, Prof. (Dr.) P. M. V. Subbarao from IIT delhi delivered his address and other than the Advances in Mechanical Engineering he also taught the art of becoming a good teacher to the participants.
In the end, feedback from the participating faculty members was taken, followed by the valedictory session. They will conjointly use these skills to impart knowledge within the connected field to the students so that the students can build inventive comes associated with it. As per the feedback received from the participants the FDP were very informative and helpful for the faculty members. The programme proved to be fruitful as the speakers hared their valuable experiences with the participants. The sessions were focussed on not solely to reinforce the information within the field of Mechanical Engineering but also in various analysis areas.
The whole programme concluded with a valedictory session wherever certificates were distributed to all the participants. The program closed with the vote of thanks by coordinator Prof. Vijay Wakhlu.
