Microsoft Web Dev Camp
Microsoft organized an event “Web Dev Camp” to introduce with new languages for building innovative websites atMicrosoft Corporation (India), DLF Cyber City, Gurgaon on 26th March 2015.
Four students from Computer Science & Engineering Department, Dronacharya College of Engineering, Gurgaon Rahul Rana (16124), Vishal Sharma (16175), Shubham Kumar (16151) and Ankit Sharma (16021) attended the event.
Key Speaker of the event was Mr. Manish Sharma and Mr. Saurabh Kirtani (Technical Evangelist), Microsoft, India.
In the event firstly the keynote was given by Mr. Manish Sharma (Technical Evangelist), in which he introduced about ASP.NET technology and provided a glimpse over Microsoft’s Visual Studio 2013. After that he discussed about the ASP.NET benefits and the standards which it supports. In this session he showed the demo of Visual Studio 2013 implementing ASP.NET’s various feature like we can create web forms, Single page Apps, Web Pages, MVC control, Web API, etc. He told about using the cloud storage feature provided by Microsoft Azure, where we can create database for our websites, servers, can also host up to 10 websites for free.
Then Mr. Saurabh Kirtani (Technical Evangelist) took the next session. He gave detailed information about the implementation of the NuGet packages, adding MVC (models, view & controller) and entity framework. The speaker also told about Bootstrap (which is the most popular HTML, CSS, and JS framework for developing responsive, mobile first projects on the web) having the features like side waffle, browser link, web essentials and html editor.
The session was very helpful as Students came to know various JS packages, which will help them creating an effective website. Then, Speakers ended up the session by taking doubts again and letting us to use this feature for sure. It was interactive and truly knowledgeable session with fruitful output of knowledge.
